Isn’t “magical negro” a Daily Show joke?
Xenolon: Actually, Spike Lee coined the term. See the link to the Wikipedia article that Ces provided.
Clambake!
Chris Rock also has a routine about Migger, the Magic *cough*.
Yea I heard thats Spike Lee’s “term”…interesting stuff…

Before anyone says it, Barack Obama doesn’t count because he’s the protagonist. The definition of a magical negro by today’s standards should include, “…and make millions of dollars by playing this role.”
And if he’s not Morgan Freeman, you’ve been cheated.
I don’t know. I think Samuel L Jackson could pull it off. He’d probably scream you deaf in the process but guided you would be.
PS: Is there a reason why we have to refer to this dude as Samuel L Jackson? As if Samuel Jackson was too vague.
Mayhem: If I had to guess, it’s the same reason we have Michael J. Fox- there was already somebody in the actor’s guild with the name Michael Fox, so he had to add an initial.
