Similarly unsuccessful was the back-up plan to sell the Missile Burger to beef marketing boards as a first-line defence against the Animal Liberation Front.

I’ve never heard that Monkees song before, it was great! Thanks for the link.

Mike Nesmith is actually a talented musician. Try listening to his stuff with the First National Band.

I like this song too, but I think “Circle Sky” is my favorite.

That’s an interesting choice for favorite Monkees’ song. Is it just because Mike gets to sing and all Davy does is shake a tambourine and maracas?

If you want to be utterly horrified, check out Mike Nesmith’s Wikipedia page. The pic they have up there of him, taken in 2005, he looks very much like, say, a senator from some particularly square Midwestern state.

Not the best quality but this was always my favorite Mike Nesmith song:

Anybody else remember Mike’s TV show “Television Parts”? Way underrated.

Due to the fact that Lockheed Martin is the culmination of dozens of acquisitions and mergers over the course of ninety years, such a final product wouldn’t surprise me.

All the Nesmith songs are great. My favorite is “What Am I Doing hanging ‘Round?”

@lostintube – I was going to nominate the same song!

There’s a pretty good cover on YouTube that gives a better idea of how the album version sounded:

I want to know what they had to be on for that to look like a good idea even on paper.
