BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG where do you come up with this stuff! First off how did you remember such an obscure film? I remember that from my childhood. OH My God dude! You win reference of the decade with this one!
We use to watch this at least once a year in grade school. I think when the teacher had a hangover and wanted to be left alone.
Something made me think of this film the other day and I Googled it. The director of this film invented the board game Risk.
Huh.
That was a great film. I remember my French teacher was all “who is this balloon supposed to be like?” (in French of course). I’m all “Des juifs?…” (the Jews?). He’s like “no, one jew specifically.” :/
I, too, watched that as a child, and always loved it. Sadly… for all the times I loved the darkness of this strip, for me at least, this one went too far. That said, about a year ago or so Wonderella had a demented take on the film, too, and I loved that one, so….

Didn’t the boy go soaring with a pack of balloons at the end? I read a MSTing (Mystery Science Theater 3000 fanfic) where a character graphically described what the horrible fate of the boy would be after ascending so high.

I saw that film many times when I was a kid, but I never understood it until now.

I always knew no good could come of this.

Did your teacher ever mention his time during the war?
What film is it?
The film for those unfamiliar:

Thanks for perverting my childhood. Again.
Danged French. Always bringing everybody down with their stories about friends in insane asylums.
I didn’t see the film until I was in my 30s, but the book was on my shelf from as early as I can remember. Mum had a Thing about the French.
*Brilliant* reference!

I remember seeing this film just before a cartoon about bugs. Does anyone remember that film?
