I think it was an episode of The Kids In The Hall that did a parody of “Motel Hell.” In the movie, the villain had been capturing travellers, cutting their vocal cords, and planting them up to their necks in a part of his farm to be fed until it was time to harvest them. Before harvesting (which involved a pickup truck and a rope) he would hypnotize them using pinwheel thingies so they could be killed humanely. In the Kids In The Hall parody, the farmer kept the people planted in the farm so he could have them sing a group version of “Midnight at the Oasis.”
If anyone else can find an instance of “unexpurgated” being used in a comic (let’s go with syndicated, for a challenge), I’ll give them a thousand bucks.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was the song “Midnight at the Oasis.”
(Anybody get that reference?)
The song by Maria Muldaur? I’m don’t understand the connection.
