    Very funny. Except that Snuffleupagus predates Elmo by at least a decade if my childhood memories are right. And at least I grew up before the Abby Kadaby era.

      That doesn’t invalidate the joke. Big Bird was on anti-psychotics for a LONG time before Elmo stepped up to support him…

      Elmo (in his current form) has been around since 1984. (The puppet has been around since the 1970’s and went through various actors.)
      Although Snuffy has been around since 1971, the adults did not figure out that he really existed until 1985.

    Hated the Snuffleupagus stuff when my kids were of an age to watch that show, until Buffy came along and said she didn’t have to see Snuffie to believe in him because Big Bird was her friend. I would have liked it even better if BB had then turned around and told the rest of them to go … themselves.
