I’m Interviewed in Sunday’s “New York Times Book Review.”

If nothing else, you can note my look of utter bafflement in the included photo as I wonder how all this came to pass. Next time I should pose in a tweed jacket with suede elbow patches, a pipe, a cocker spaniel, and an eddy of leaves swirling around my feet so people can say, “When did Francesco become an adjunct as a clearly uncredited New England college?”
You look in these publicity photos like you just heard someone you can’t identify say your name in a busy store, and you’re looking around, wondering if you’re hallucinating.
