    Funny (as in peculiar, not hilarious) how everybody so far has missed that this is a parody of “The Velveteen Rabbit.”

    My sister and her bridegroom twenty years ago invoked the passage about how a stuffed animal becomes a real one at their wedding ceremony. Their marriage fell apart like Threadbear a few years ago and she has since re-married.
