Due to personal/professional/parole matters, today’s strip is one from the musty vaults of Medium Large. But please tune in tomorrow with a make-up Saturday strip!

Hehe, I remember this one. Reminds me of the _Simpsons_ scene where the regulars at Moe’s are playing dangerous, potentially lethal pranks on each other and taking it all in good fun, but Homer is thrown out and banned for pulling the harmless “loose sugar lid” gag.
What, they don’t have any anthrax spores around?
If memory serves me wasn’t this comic not received well when it originally ran? I seem to remember that for some reason.
One person demanded I take it off. I did. Then a bunch of readers demanded I put it back on and I so I did that. In the end it proved to be a popular strip but it showed me that good or bad a cartoonist hast to stand behind what they do, positive or negative.
Are you being serious, Ces? Someone got offended by _this_ strip of all things? Makes that guy who demanded the Wheelchair Cheney strip be removed, and then threw a tantrum when that didn’t happen, seem rational by comparison.
Naw, you’re pulling our legs, right?
I was offended by this cartoon. I hate the word “dude”.
This is disgusting. It has “scabs” in it. Euuuuwwwwww. Also, whoever was originally offended by it is a dumbshit.
You said it, Sara. Maybe if at the time there had been a smallpox outbreak somewhere that was killing huge numbers of people I could see someone taking offence. But the only smallpox viruses in existence for decades now are in a small number of labs.
Well, I suppose there are people who are offended by the word “hello” because it’s an ethnic slur in the Elbonian language or something.
Thanks a lot, Ces! I had a hard enough time trusting spices and coffee additives before. Looks like I’m going to be drinking black coffee and eating bland eggs now.
I’m offended, because really what you want to do is scrape the small pox lesions and put that into the dispensers. The problem is that is more of a gelatinous goo which would probably make the salt and pepper not pour well and defeat the whole purpose of the prank in the first place…which I assume is to disseminate smallpox. Scabs have a pretty low viral load.
Oh wait…I’m over analyzing this, aren’t I?
would the salt and pepper shakers get smallpox? or would it simply be passed on to the humans? since the milk pitcher tastes the salt in the milk it holds, i guess the salt and pepper shakers would get the disease.
either way, i’m not going to use salt shakers in public places anymore.
I love the juxtaposition of todays M.L. with today’s sally forth, one has smallpox scabs and the other “memories in my eyes…”
Not mocking – I love the Forth – just sayin’ is all
