Natasha: 1993-2010

Posted in Uncategorized by cesco7 on December 27, 2010

An amazing, beautiful, warm, brilliant, friendly cat I was extremely fortunate to call family and friend. She was my constant companion for almost 18 years and I am happy I was able to share Christmas with her.

I miss her dearly and always will.

In her honor Medium Large will not run this week.

Ces, I’m so sorry about your cat. I was lucky enough to live with a beautiful tortoiseshell kitty for 18 years, too. It sounds like Natasha had a very good life with you.

Ces – cats do what they want, and she wanted to spend 18 years with you and make you happy. That’s rare for a cat. My sympathies – you were very fortunate to have her.

My deepest sympathy, Ces. Losing a kitty who’s been part of your life for that long is just awful.

The ancient garden seems at night
    A deeper gloom to bear
As if some silent shadow’s blight
    Were hov’ring in the air.

With hidden griefs the grasses sway,
    Unable quite to word them–
    Remembering from yesterday
The little paws that stirred them.

Looks like a terrific cat, a great companion. So very sorry… it’s devastating when the time comes. But no regrets for having been part of their lives.

I just lost my 17 year old friend and cat in October and still miss her very much. It takes a long time to feel better and you will probably always feel the void her absence leaves. It does get easier to turn the sadness into good memories, though it takes time.

    I’m sorry for your loss.

    Hang in there.

True companions, whatever the species, are rare to come by. My sorrow from the loss of past cat companions has mellowed into warm and treasured memories. These feelings help me appreciate my current cat companion all that much more.

You have my sympathy and condolances.

Sorry! The sad loss of your companion will slowly be replaced with memories that will bring happiness later. This, at least, I know to be true.

When they have been part of your life for so long, it is never easy or quick to find a way to deal with the loss. It’s obvious she was well loved. My deepest sympathies.

My condolences. I grew up in a house that always had at least one cat (but usually three at any given moment). Losing them is always painful, but the joy they bring while they’re around makes it worth it. In conclusion, I hope you feel up to getting a new kitty soon. Not as a replacement (b/c they are all unique), but as a new companion and source of awesome memories (kind of like Doctor Who’s companions, I guess).

I lost the cat I’d had since I was six a few years back, right before Christmas. Having it happen at this time of year certainly doesn’t help matters.

Our sincere condolences. We lost our calico, Franny, just before Christmas this year. She was 14. We’re still lucky enough to have her sister, but we miss her very much and know what you’re going through. Your memories of her will be with you always!

The thing that sucks about having an animal for so long is it’s only more time to get used to their presence. Losing a pet is never easy. Sorry for your loss.

    RIP, Natasha

It’s never easy to lose a friend
To see a life come to an end
While your heart feels heavy, and your soul feels pained
Focus not on the loss, but on the friendship that was gained

    Take care, Ces.

I’m so sorry, Ces. She looks like she was a very sweet baby. I lost My Lord Chauncey about two and a half years ago. My new kitty is very sweet, but he’s not a replacement. There’ll always be a small space in my heart where Chauncey was and that’s how it’ll be for you. I hope with time a new kitty comes into your life to fill part of the hole. Sympathies and hugs to you.

I’m terribly sorry for your loss; I lost a cat last year, myself, and I have another which appears to be the same kind as Natasha. I’d hate it if anything happened to her.

I’m glad you got to spend the time you did with her, though.

Maybe I’m not saying any of this right, but you do have my deepest condolences.

Sorry about your loss. She seems to wear that crown with quiet dignity. Our perhaps surpressed rage, but either way, she was a beautiful cat.

I am very sorry for the loss of your cat. She looked beautiful which I am sure she was. You were blessed to have her for so many years and I can’t imagine how difficult her loss is for you. Just be assured that she is still with you and always will be. Mustering up all the prayers and blessings I can to send your way at this very sad time.

If I should ever leave you whom I love
To go along the Silent Way,
    Grieve not,
Nor speak of me with tears,
But laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there.

    ( I’d come – I’d come, could I but find a way!
But would not tears and grief be barriers? )
And when you hear a song
Or see a bird I loved,
Please do not let the thought of me be sad…
For I am loving you just as I always have…
You were so good to me!

There are so many things I wanted still to do –
So many things to say to you…
Remember that I did not fear…
It was Just leaving you that was so hard to face…
    We cannot see Beyond…
    But this I know:
    I love you so –
    ’twas heaven here with you!

I’m so sorry. I haven’t the foggiest idea what I can say that might help. I had a cat who looked quite a bit like that almost five years ago who died. I stayed with her the whole night before, when she couldn’t even move anymore.

It gets better, but so painfully slowly.
