I’m not saying that he should use a Simpson’s character in place of Obama. I’m just asking why he didn’t criticize Obama for renewing the Patriot Act when he criticized Bush for starting it.
James Bevan, analyze your own statement, and, answer the question of what The Right would have said if he did not renew it? Not saying it was the right thing to do…
And renewing a controversial, but vaguely legal LAW, is not the same as illegally hacking into phone records of a dead child (and disrupting a police investigation), the grieving families of 9/11 victims, and… possibly, perhaps having some connection to the recent mysterious death of the whistleblower who 1st starting making wave about all this….?
Here’s a thought, James: If you are so keen to have cartoons mocking particular things, why don’t *you* draw them? And let actual cartoonists mock whatever they think will make a cartoon that is actually funny, rather than wracking their brains coming up with some twisted, obscure, and probably unfunny cartoon about *your* pet issue?
I’m not saying you shouldn’t mock James for obviously not realizing this blog is 95% kitties and 5% forgotten pop culture, but why should someone take time away from kitties with political commentary when everyone else on the internet is doing that?
Jon Stewart stole from you. Last night, WELL after you posted this cartoon, he called Murdoch ‘Mr. Burns’ and did his Mr. Burns voice and nearly verbatim repeated your comic caption.

Not that I’m saying you shouldn’t attack Murdoch, but why were you silent when Obama renewed the Patriot Act? Or isn’t he a target for mockery?
Okay, which Simpsons character would you plug into that scenario, James?

Principal Skinner as Obama, Superintendent Chalmers as whoever bullied him into doing it.
No, Flanders as Obama, Homer as Boehner or whoever.

And I’ve always pictured Rupert Murdoch as Monty Burns.

You’re almost famous!!
James, how are things under the bridge?
With thanks to the Daily Show for the idea for this comic.
Posted this the morning of that evening’s broadcast, several hours ahead.
