Claw the System: Poems from the Cat Uprising
The cats have had it with humans.
They’re done with us telling them “No.” They’re done with us ignoring their demands. They’re done with us rubbing them the wrong way, often from butt to head. For far too long cats have had to endure us telling them to “Get off my table,” “Get off my couch,” and “Get off my face.”
But the times are changing. The cats’ nap time is over. They’ve gathered to reclaim their voice, reclaim their rights, and declare their intent. And so now they raise one paw in protest and shove another into our drinks as they give full voice to their uprising with such poems of protest and anthems of rebellion as “I Need This to Stop,” “What Do I Do with My Anger,” and “Things No One Can Ever Take Away from Me.”
Yes, it is indeed time for new leadership. So support the cats’ cause or sleep on the floor, because either way they’re taking over the bed.
